The only issue I find is that it has a certain glare or reflection depending on the light conditions. I highly recommend purchasing the cover with the light built-in since you would not want to carry the extra light everywhere. -- I would be a perfect product if glare (reflection) were 0
I am really pleased with my Sony PRS600 ereader. When I hooked it to my PC, it took off and installed all software perfectly.
The screen is clear and the font size adjustable to anyone's eyes. The glare is the only draw back, and that is cured by a slight angle change to remove the light glare.
It is light enough and seems strong and sturdy. The Sony has absorbed all the punishment I've given it.
I love the added slots for SD cards, my library is Unlimited!!
The major flaw is the same with all ereaders. NO BACK LIGHT !! I love to read at night next to my wife while she sleeps. I Need a back light. I have a charger to compensate for the battery usage. Go ahead and try the reading lights that hook on to the ereader. Battery life is short, you bump them and they fall off. Why not atleast give us an option of buying a Sony with a back lit screen. I will gladly suffer thru charging my battery more often or reading with it hooked up to a charger.
Shipping from Amazon was amazingly fast. Hats off to them.
The user manual online is awfull but necessary to learn the functions.
An all in one accessory package is offered. Includes: Protective Binder - Reading light - Battery charger, car charger - screen protector. It was well worth it, all were excellent products.
I'm a happy camper, and will do it again when back lit comes out. RH :) -- Would not take much to be the Best!
I have owned a Sony 700 reader for several years, and I think quite highly of it. Not knowing the expected life span of the reader, I decided to purchase a back-up. I purchased the 600 at Amazon, and it is every bit as good as "old reliable" and then some. I can't believe how many times I have used the convenient dictonary on the 600!
I now alternate books on the two readers.sony prs 600 -- My second SONY Reader
I have a small experience with this e-book but i already have see a few problems:
1. The battery time is very short.
2.The instructions is bad -it miss a lot of important information.
3.Reader cannot read a lot of fonts and doesn't recognize some formats(.doc ant etc.)
4.It loads book from pc very slow.
5.The library cannot work with international languages.
6. The contrast of the letters depends on angle of vision.
Please, think about these, if you will decide to bye Sony PRS-600
Sincerely,
