it does what it has to. Later I found you could get it cheaper by using a knock off brand, but those might last less time so happy I spent a little more. This works for the PRS 300 even though it's not labelled as such -- it works
I love my Sony Touch Reader and this charger keeps it conveniently charged and ready for reading or allows me to charge while reading. The cable that comes with the Reader can only be used via a computer which is not always handy. Diane
PS: Another tip: Larger public libraries have ebooks which are compatible with my Sony Touch Reader. I find browsing my local library website and downloading ebooks is very easy and I am able to keep the books in my Reader Library for up to 21 days at no charge. -- A "Must have" for my Sony Reader!

The charger for the Sony PSP works on the Reader but is A LOT cheaper. -- There is a cheaper alternative
