I really like this cover for my Kindle. It definitely keeps it protected and secure. As some others have mentioned, the only draw backs are the strong smell that it has at first and the lack of other colors. Overall it is a bargain. -- great buy
Like many of my fellow Kindle2 brethen, I have spent more time selecting the right cover than making the decision to buy the Kindle in the first place. I started out with a sleeve because I thought covering up the device would actually mitigate its sleek, appealing design, and I have been VERY pleased with the M-Edge Touring Sleeve (neoprene) that is slim and ultra-protective. But now that I've been loving and using my Kindle for several weeks, I realize that I really do need something that protects it while I'm using it. So after many more hours of searching, I decided on the TrendyDigital MaxGuard Plus in red.
The case is perfectly designed - it's slim and sleek and adds very little extra girth to the gorgeous Kindle. The fit is also perfect - snug but not too tight, and the cut-outs are well-designed, allowing access to all the buttons and ports while still providing almost as much protection as a sleeve. The magnetic closures are likewise brilliant in that they keep the cover tightly closed, but don't require a fight to open. BUT it does have a nasty chemical smell which has been dissipating in the 24 hours that I've had it, so I am optimistic that soon it will be gone - but it most definitely exists. Yet, my biggest disappointment is the look of the "leather" - there is nothing leather-like about it, it looks like relatively cheap pleather with a matte finish. Why can't somebody take this great design and make it out of attractive leather - I've even seen good, glossy pleather that is more attractive than this - that, presumably, would not stink?! -- It's a great cover, BUT....
I bought this after reading many reviews on covers. I wanted something that looked like a book cover so I could open it easily whilst reading my kindle. The kindle fits right into the cover really snugly. The cover has cut aways for all of the ports and buttons so everything is easy to reach. It's comfortable to hold on my commute, and quickly snaps closed with the magnetic buttons. I don't know if it protects when dropped as I haven't done that yet (fingers crossed)! I would recommend this to anyone that wants a folding type of cover. -- Great kindle cover
My cover arrived promptly and it is beautiful. The leather is smooth and the cover fits my kindle neatly and securely. The magnetic closure is elegant, effective and easy to use. I would have given a higher rating except the leather has been treated with a chemical that smells ghastly. It's been a few weeks and I can still smell it. I wish it had been available in a wider selection of colors. -- Beautiful but smelly
It took me a good long while to decide upon a cover. I finally chose this one (after hours and hours of looking at every cover ever made) because of it's light, slim construction with excellent protection qualities.
I really do like it. It's not the fancy $100+ leather, but it is nice. I especially like the magnetic closure and the way the Kindle fits in there very securely. It's very protective without being bulky at all.
It's not a complaint, but if I could have one tiny more feature, it would be a small pocket on the inside cover. Not sure why, but I tend to always have a slip of paper that needs stowing and it would be nice to have that here. But I'm more than willing to forego that for all the rest this cover provides.
